Dreamz Football Academy X The Sunshine Volunteers

Dreamz Football Academy was established in 1991 to support underprivileged children in the community and give them a chance to play sports. Players range from 9 to 23 years of age and although predominating boys they currently have over 40 girls registered in the program. Located in Kumasi, this academy houses their players, providing shelter and food to those most in need. All the players attend school as it is very important to this program all players continue their education. The players train 3pm - 6pm during the regular school season and switch to morning training whilst school is out for summer.

Volunteers in this program attend the training sessions each day from Monday to Friday. Volunteers will work with the coaches to run drills, warm ups, stretching and coach the players through their games. Once volunteers are comfortable they will work solo with a small group of players and run practices. There may be opportunities to attend weekend games or tournaments. It will depend on the location and permission from the coaches. Trips to weekend games will be at a cost to the volunteers.

Volunteers do not need a background in football/soccer to join this program. Anyone with an interest in sports is welcome to join!
