EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM
New Mingle Kids Academy was founded in 2018 in Kronum Kwapra. This school is nearby to the volunteer accommodation and has around 240 students. The students range from 1 to 11 years old, with the majority of students being toddlers, and this program has classes from creche to BS4. The school is home to the headmistress Mama P and her family. Her son is also one of the school administrators. Volunteers can help in Creche by feeding, washing bowls, changing diapers, cleaning their faces, teaching songs and rhymes, and putting them down for naps and playing games on break!
Through our volunteers, we have discovered some children have learning difficulties and need assistance with their learning. Volunteers can assist these children with learning to read and write letters and numbers, identify colours, animals, fruits, and vegetables. Volunteers will arrive early in the morning around 8:45 am till the end of the school day at around 3pm. Volunteers can walk to this placement so it fills up fast.
Those interested in teaching the elementary classes will plan lessons according to the schools curriculum and teach along side the local staff. They will create homework assignments based on the content they are teaching and will collect and mark those assignments the next day. They can choose from a variety of subjects and teaching proper English pronunciation is always needed.
