MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM

MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM

Volunteers interested in the Mental Health program will attend Suntreso Hospital.

The Suntreso Government Hospital’s mission is “To improve the health status of the people within Bantama Sub-Metro and beyond through the provision of quality health care delivered by highly committed staff through good leadership and collaboration with stakeholders.”

This hospital is open 24/7 and provides care through a wide variety of departments.

The mental health nurses here do a lot of outreach programs. They visit the patients and do general assessments within the patient's home environment. Volunteers will be able to participate in these outreach programs if interested.

Mental Health Volunteers can also do case search, visit prayer camps, faith-based healers and offer mental health education for children and young people.

Mental Health Volunteers may also have the opportunity to work at an intellectually disabled children's school. These children have both mental and some physical disabilities. Please see the special needs project for more information about this.

Volunteers do not need any medical experience to join this program just a passion for learning and helping peopleVolunteers are required to bring their own scrubs for this placement.
